MY day to day list will never be without this app on my Macas it has proven it’s worth time and again when I lack metric conversion skills, weather conversion, and just being there for those odd times that seem to pop up when you want to understand more about what you are dealing with at that timean invaluable tool for me and as important as having a dictionary handy. Dreamthr4, What Gives Here? Currency Doesn’t Work!OK, it’s FREE, so I won’t make a big deal out of this. The reason I needed this app was for Currency converting.
I enter 49 for UK Pound and what shows uo on the other side of the window for US Dollar? I tried several other country currencies and every time whatever you entered on left side appeared the same on the right side. No change at all. I tried some of the other converters, and they seemed to work OK. But the one I needed, the one I particularly needed, the app that can convert worldwide currencies, DOESN’T WORK!
I was so stunned by this I just continued to laugh it was so unbelievable! BTW: I rarely, if ever, write reviews for apps.
I just don’t bother to take the time. But this app made me laugh so hard, I just had to let the world know that this must be a joke. Better luck next time and thank God it didn’t cost me anything but the time it took to write this review. NDDonna, An Excellent Litte Application! This is an amazing little program that I have come to rely on for a variety of conversions as well as just for fun when learning new terms. When you first open the application you will see a drop-down window appear from the top of your desktop. Following the pointer at the top of the window you will notice that a small circle with a conversion symbol has been added.
Clicking on it will open or close the drop-down. (Neat, right?)If you want to quit the program altogether, do a Right-Click on the icon and choose Quit from the Drop-Down menu. (To do a Right-Click using your mouse, use your right middle finger to push down the right side or button on the mouse.
For Lefties, do the reverse.)While the conversion window is open, you can also use Command key + Q at the same time to Quit the program. (That combination will cause almost all programs to Quit.)A program with many choices that is easy to use. What more could you ask for!
I appreciate the work that went into creating it.
Hey there,
Have you tried resetting the widgets by hitting Command-R when the dashboard is up? Also, try killing the DashboardClient process through the Activity Monitor and restart it by opening the Dashboard again. Try logging out and then back in too and see if that takes care of anything. Otherwise, one of the preference files may have become corrupt. Try deleting the dashboard preference files and relaunching the Dashboard by relaunching the Dock. These preference files are in your home/Library/Preferences folder and have the following names: com.apple.dashboard.client.plist com.apple.dashboard.plist If you erase the plist files, you will have to reconfigure your dashboard again, just for a word of warning. See if that helps. B-rock
